Holy Week – Step Forward
Palm Sunday Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey as he humbly approaches his destiny as the events of Holy Week unfold. We can take time to examine our own humble steps forward towards the cross.
As we look to the cross during Holy Week I find the following scripture a helpful reminder and focal point:
Isaiah 42:6-7
I am the Lord, I have called you in righteousness, I have taken you by the hand and kept you; I have given you as a covenant to the people, a light to the nations, to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness.
That scripture helps me humble myself and walk with Jesus and as I do my light shines for others to see. That humble light that shines within is encouragement for others. Stepping forward even if it is small steps is a blessed gift of the Holy Spirit. The more steps we take foward out of the darkness the brighter our light shines, our attitudes soften towards love, our perspectives become a parachute to open up our ability to understand. This allows our Christ like qualities to flourish and be fruitful.
This flourishing and fruitfulness creates a powerful internal glow! The brighter our internal glow the better we feel and it strengthens our vertical. The stronger our vertical the more we continue coming back and building our connection with God. The more we connect to God the more we model our Christ like qualities and the more we model those Christ like qualities our human interaction, our relationships can thrive and flourish in this healthy space we create by walking the way of the cross!
It is a daily commitment to walk like Jesus and have a purposeful life. Walking the way of the cross is walking in the way of love. Living in the wake of Jesus is a humble commitment to ourselves and our loved ones. Walking the way of the cross is connecting to the true North which allows our best version of ourselves to flourish.
Walking the way of the cross is a continuous process. Over and over again looking to the cross and remembering what it means, remembering what Jesus with all humility did for us. With all humility it is a choice to do as He asked us to do. Love! ❤
