Sunday the Fourth Week of Lent – Scripture Meditation and Breathwork
This past week we have been focusing on rooting down so that we can rise up to be humble, kind and dependable. Strengthening our vertical so that humility can meet us with all we face on the horizontal.
Today’s scripture meditation and breathwork exercise will focus on:
Jeremiah 17:7&8
Blessed is the one who trusts in Me alone, the Eternal will be his confidence. He is like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots beside the stream. It does not fear the heat or even drought. Its leaves stay green and its fruit is dependable, not matter what it faces.
Being humble, kind and dependable on the horizontal is a struggle for all humans. It is called the human condition. God hardwires us with a solution for everything we face in life. It is on us to make the wise choice whether or not to be humble, kind and dependable in all situations face.
To be humble, kind and dependable on the horizontal comes from the strength of the vertical. It comes out of our ability to be loving. Love is an action word, showing love is a vertical choice. Being trusting or being able to trust others comes with proof, also a vertical choice. Just as saying sorry, being sorry displays change of character or efforts towards change of character, also a vertical choice. Forgiveness and forgiving is vertical – holding grudges and issuing punishment or payback is horizontal.
If we deal with our horizontal in a humble, kind and dependable way we are able to live, love and connect with others in a healthy God pleasing way.
Focusing on this scripture, spending time in stillness with God has provided me so much growth and strength with my relationship with God and my relationship with others. I hope this practice helps you find that as well ❤
