Strengthen the Vertical – Mindful Movement

Palm Sunday – Mindful Movement

This past week we explored the importance of trusting God so much that we can be still and hold peace.

My breathwork and movement classes offer ways to explore mindfulness as we connect to the physical body. Staying connected to the breath (the breath of life) and being mindfully aware how the breath moves through the body, it opens up the opportunity to create positive change on the inside and the outside. This mindful movement helps us experience just what the breath (the breath of life) can do. It sparks change!

As we stay connected to the breath and awareness of the body we are also connecting to our response area of the brain. The more connected we are, the wiser (or God guided) decisions or responses we make.

The more distracted/disconnected we are – well our choices and responses are just that – disconnected from our best version of ourselves. Catching our disconnections, slowing things down and being mindful and in the moment, helps us to recognize the breath within so that we can create that pause, that space, find our best choice or response in the moment. The practice of mindfulness allows us to strengthen our vertical and connect in healthy ways with God, ourselves and others.

Paying attention on purpose in the moment is being mindful. The practice below is a great exercise that encourages mind body connection to create space for change and growth. And as we change and grow and strengthen our verticals from the inside out we are essentially building our trust muscles that will help us live out Exodus 14:14 – Be still, hold peace and know that we can trust in God ❤
